I type this post as I rock gently in a hammock under the night sky in Palm Springs. I have found a most lovely sanctuary in the Ace Hotel & Swim club. I feel safe here, far from those nasty craps dealers and the solitude of the desert road. Lounging in the afternoon sun by the pool? Done. Cocktails in the Amigo Room? Check. Dinner poolside? Yup. Lost in thought as I gaze upon the starry night sky. Oh my yes.
I like Palm Springs a lot. It feels as though I've traveled back in time. The mid-century architecture, slow pace, hip vibes, and general California-ness of it is quite enchanting. The mountain back drop doesn't hurt either. And the street names, such as Bob Hope Drive and Gene Autry Trail lend an air of Old Hollywood.
Moving on tomorrow, but Palm Springs goes on the list of places I shall return to. Especially with a minibar like this:

ReplyDeleteThere was also a small fridge filled with hipster beer (PBR), Sunny's favourite (Amstel Light), and Mexican Coke (The drink made with Sugar instead of HFCS, not Peruvian marching powder). This place is like my disneyland.
ReplyDeleteDay 30 already???Time flies when you are having fun...so tell me, is the original 6 weeks still viable or are you going to have to stretch it out a little???
